A Holliday in spain 2006

This years family holiday to Spain gave some opportunities to take pictures of the Spanish air force and Armada.

The first base to visit was Rota. Situated near Jerez we spend a few days at the campsite next to the beach. TheCampsite is located near the approach so pictures where no problem. At Rota I saw a lot off C-5's but very little movement on the part of the Armada and only on one day a few Harriers late in the day. Just at the moment that I did not have a camera ready.

After spending a day at the Alhambra in Granada we went for a quick look at Armilla. At this base the helicopter training of the Spanish air force is based. There are two units based; 781 Esc flying the S-76C and 782 Esc with the EC-120B.
the base is very open and spotting doesn't is not really a problem, in the time we spent her several people past us and no one made a remark about what we where doing.

The last base we visited before going to the Tiger meet was Murcia - San Javier. At this base the campsite is next to the runway. So there are opportunities enough to have a look. The weekly training of the Aguila is straight over the campsite.
Ala 79 fly's training aircraft, seen where the C101 and T-35C there was no trace of the C127 (Do-27) and C212 witch are also based there. Flying start at 08:30 and will go on until around 14:00.
The nice thing about visiting these bases is that it will give you the opportunity to see some type's that normally don't go outside Spain that often
