Next stop was
Kalamata the only place where you still can see live T-2
Buckeyes.
Still on schedule to make for airbases on one day we went on
Kalamata air base. A little careful we stated taking pictures of
the static that was more a American stile of static with no
ropes and people all over the planes. After just a few minutes
we where approached by a safety officer who told us that taking
picture of the flight line was not allowed and if we wanted
something we had just to ask him. And we did, can we take
pictures of the gate guards, sure no problem as long as you only
take pictures of the gate guard.

With the
mountains in the background
Kalamata made for some nice
scenic shots and our first T-41, a aircraft of the Hellenic Air
Force not seen outside Greece.
As there was
still time before darkness at 17:00 we made our way to Tripoli
air base. At this base there is no active squadron, it has a
technical school and a collection of preserved aircraft. At the
gate we where stopped and told that taking pictures was not
allowed, as this was the last base we where visiting this day we
still entered to se the display |
